Public Health Contractor (Active Living)

Position Summary 

Seeking Public Health Contractor to lead Active Living programming and support with nutrition, heart health and diabetes education!

Essential Functions 

  • Support the work of Lifespan Local with Community Health Education by taking the lead on Active Living Programming. In addition, assist with heart health, diabetes, and nutrition education.  

    1. Create and lead Active Living programming for residents of Southwest Denver.    

    2. Attend trainings to gain knowledge on common health concerns in our community. 

    3. Relay educational materials to community members on the topics of:

      1. Heart health, Diabetes, Nutrition, and Active Living

      2. Promoting self-advocacy for health

      3. Resources for addressing health concerns

    4. Assist with trainings for the community on nutrition, heart health, and diabetes.  

    5. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and health experts to provide education and resources.  

    6. Engage in community conversations to learn from residents what public health education and resources would benefit the community.

    7. Complete appropriate documentation of community interactions and questions. 

    8. Submit timely documentation.

    9. Adhere to public health team values and expectations. Utilize agreed upon communication tools.  

Background/Qualifications

Bilingual preferred – Spanish/English  

Expected Work Hours        

January 2nd – June 30th, Up to 20 hours/week

Compensation/Benefits

$29.00/hour
